The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner will be hosting a ‘Summer of fun and focus’ across Bedfordshire.
The ‘Summer of Fun and Focus’ is fully funded by the OPCC and aims to give young people between the ages of 4 and 16 the opportunity to learn skills in focus, confidence and health by attending Boxing and Martial Arts classes ran by local businesses in the community.
The OPCC have commissioned Boxing and Martial Art instructors across Bedfordshire to offer free sessions to young people over the summer holidays.
Police and Crime Commissioner, Festus Akinbusoye, said “In response to community meetings I’ve been holding across Bedfordshire, I am funding these free activities to support families and young people this summer. I hope those attending the sessions will acquire skills in a healthy and balanced lifestyle for the mind and body. Our young people deserve some fun after the last 16 months and our communities will also be supported by the work our partners will do with them.”
These sessions are being held across Bedfordshire including; Bedford, Biggleswade, Eaton Bray, Kempston, Leighton Buzzard, Linslade, Luton and Toddington, with more dates and locations to be added soon.
For more information on the sessions, see the OPCC website here.
