Each year, the Mayor of Biggleswade raises funds for a chosen charity. At the end of the Mayoral year in May, the funds are used to support those in need residing in and around Biggleswade as well as those in need from Ukraine.
This year, Councillor Fage has chosen to support Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice and the British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.
Last year’s recipient of the Mayor’s Charity Fund was Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice. The charity helps to support people through the most difficult time of their lives. The generosity of the residents of Biggleswade resulted in donations totalling £567, which provided expert care to people in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire suffering from cancer, heart failure, lung disease and motor neurone disease.
The Mayor of Biggleswade, Grant Fage will be holding events throughout the year to raise funds for the chosen charities. One of the events will be the Civic Service, this event is an opportunity to focus on the community of Biggleswade and to recognise and thank the many individuals who do so much for our town in so many ways.
Future Mayor’s events will be updated on the Biggleswade Town Council website, click for the link here.
All donations are welcome and can really help to make a difference in people’s lives. To support this year’s worthy causes, please find banking details here . Please quote the reference Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice or the British Red Cross Ukraine Appeal.
