Councillor Mark Foster visited Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice on Tuesday 1st August 2023. The hospice, a cornerstone of palliative care and bereavement support, welcomed Councillor Foster as he sought to deepen his understanding of the facility, its dedicated staff, and the invaluable care provided to patients in their times of greatest need.
St John’s Hospice is chosen as one of the three Mayor’s charities for the current year. This prestigious recognition highlights the pivotal role the hospice plays in offering essential care to individuals facing challenging circumstances, including terminal illnesses, bereavement, and neurological conditions.
During his visit, Councillor Foster explored the hospice’s facilities and compassionate environment. He connected with the staff, whose unwavering dedication to patients and families was evident, as they deliver not only medical support but also emotional solace during life’s most trying moments.
