Riverside cleanup on 10 April 2022

Biggleswade Town Council are proud to have been able to support the organisers of the riverside clean up on Sunday 10th April 2022 with 20 litter pickers and 10 bag hoops for the event.

There was an amazing turnout of 35 residents as well as Biggleswade Town Councillor Mark Foster.

Thank you to everyone who helped with this amazing initiative.

Biggleswade Town Council is also working with the following groups: Adopt a Street and Plastic Free Biggleswade wherever possible.

Thank you from the Organisers

What a fantastic Riverside Clean today!!!! Thank you so, so much for everyone who joined us, you were amazing!!! A total of 25 adults, 10 children and 3 dogs joined today’s event and cleared an awesome 61lbs (27.67kgs) of litter from the stretch of the riverside between Sandy and the A1 tunnels towards Langford. I am beyond amazed and grateful for everyone’s efforts and support. Tanya Cormano was brilliant, as always, methodically sorting out and weighing the “rescued” litter (details of which will be reported to Surfers Against Sewage, of which Plastic Free Biggleswade is part). Thank you, also, to Fairtrade Association Biggleswade, Biggleswade Good Neighbours and St Andrews Church for supporting the event by providing much needed refreshments, which were kindly donated by the Co-op. And thank you to Biggleswade Town Council for providing litter pickers and bag hoops!!! You’re all absolutely, fantastically brilliant!!
