Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh

It was with great sorrow that the Council learned of the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

His service to our country has been greatly valued over so many years, both for his support to the Queen and for his work as a senior member of the Royal Family.  He served in so many ways, quietly and with dignity.

Councillors and Staff at Biggleswade Town Council wish to offer their deepest sympathy to the Queen and the Royal Family at this sad time.

May he rest in peace.

The Lord-Lieutenant has announced an online Bedfordshire Book of Condolence for HRH The Duke of Edinburgh is now available for those who wish to send a personal message of condolence and can be accessed at: www.royal.rip

Many people in Bedfordshire may also think of showing their sadness and respect for The Duke by laying flowers. In this time of pandemic, The Royal Family has expressly asked that instead of floral tributes, people might consider instead giving a donation to a charity of their choice. You can read the message at www.royal.uk/donations.
