Mayor’s Charity Fund for 2021/22

Support the Mayor’s Charity Fund for 2021/22

Each year, the Mayor of Biggleswade raises funds for a chosen charity. The Mayor’s chosen charity for 2020/21 was Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice, Moggerhanger. Donations are sent at the end of the Mayoral year in May.

Last year donations totalled £582.12, which provided 30 hours of expert care to people in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire suffering from cancer, heart failure, lung disease and motor neurone disease. Any further donations are welcome and can really help to make a difference in people’s lives. If you wish to donate to Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice please click here to donate.

With the unprecedented circumstances this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mayor of Biggleswade, Madeline Russell, was forced to cancel the annual Civic Service. To read the Mayor’s announcement in full, please click here. The event would have been an opportunity to focus on the community of Biggleswade and to recognise and thank the many individuals who do so much for our town in so many ways. It would also have been a further means of raising money for St John’s.

Meanwhile, the new Mayor’s chosen charity will be announced at the end of May so please re visit the website at this time for an update.
