An unforgettable evening of trivia, camaraderie, and goodwill took place at The Rose Pub on Wednesday 2nd August 2023, as Mayor Mark Foster hosted a Charity Pub Quiz Night. The event, hosted by The Rose Pub team, drew an enthusiastic crowd and showcased the town’s unwavering support for local charities.
With a diverse range of questions and rounds that engaged participants, the quiz night proved to be a resounding success. The Rose Pub’s welcoming atmosphere provided the perfect backdrop for the evening, ensuring everyone in attendance had a memorable and enjoyable time.
The demand for tickets was extraordinary, resulting in a sold-out event with 79 tickets snapped up by eager participants. The excitement didn’t stop there, as raffle ticket sales added an impressive £661 to the charitable contributions. While final donations are still being counted, the Pub quiz has already raised over £1056 for the Mayor’s chosen charities, a testament to the communities generosity.
The event was attended by Mayors from neighbouring towns, showcasing the spirit of collaboration and unity. Representatives from all three of the Mayor’s chosen charities, MIND BLMK, Tourettes Action, and St Johns Hospice Moggerhanger, were in attendance, along with Biggleswade Town Councillors who showed their support for the event.
A special thank you and gratitude extends to the Local Businesses who generously donated raffle prizes. Their support and contributions added an extra layer of excitement to the event, making it an even greater success. We want to express our gratitude to The Rose Pub for Nuxies Kitchen, Surfin Cafe’, The White Hart Pub, La Vida Hairdressers, The Vintage Avenue, CK Nurseries, Asda, The Crown Wetherspoons, Jones’ Gym, Biggleswade Town Council.
