Local and parish elections are taking place on 4 May 2023
This is an update on the voting process following changes in Government legislation.

From May 2023 voters will be required to present an approved form of photographic identification in order to cast a ballot at the polling station. A wide range of photo IDs will be accepted including passports, driving licences and cards with a PASS mark. Click here for the accepted identification.
For those who are unable or prefer not to vote in person, postal voting is an option. Find out how to apply for a postal vote here.
Candidate information
Candidates who are interested in standing as a Councillor, can find more information on standing in local and parish elections on the Electoral Commission’s website. Nomination papers can be requested from electoral.registration@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk and must be delivered by hand to Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands SG17 5TQ. You can request an appointment for a precheck to make sure that the information on your nomination paper is correct. Nomination papers cannot be accepted before 14 March 2023. The deadline for handing in completed nomination form is 4pm on Tuesday 4 April. Please email electoral.registration@centralbedfordshire.go.uk for more information.
