Mayor Cllr Jonathan Woodhead has recently been busy visiting a number of local events and organisations, celebrating the innovation, dedication and community spirit that make our area special.
His first stop was at Smith Myers, a UK-based, employee-owned company leading the way in cellular engineering. The Mayor learned more about their innovative products, including the award-winning ARTEMIS Mobile Phone Detection & Location System, which is supporting search and rescue teams and other vital operations around the world.
The Mayor then had the honour of officially opening the Volunteer Fair at the Bigg Theatre. This fantastic event brought together a wide range of local groups and charities, including Biggleswade Good Neighbours, Shuttleworth Volunteers, the Girlguides, Rotary, Lions Clubs and many more. It was a brilliant opportunity to shine a light on the incredible contribution volunteers make to our community.
Finally, Cllr Woodhead attended the Bus Running Day and the Steam & Country Fayre at Shuttleworth. Both events were a great success, drawing in visitors and celebrating our heritage, transport, and countryside traditions.
The Mayor was delighted to meet so many passionate individuals and groups, and thanks everyone involved for their hard work in making these events possible.
