At the Annual Statutory Meeting held on Tuesday 14th May 2025, Members of Biggleswade Town Council elected a new Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Cllr Jonathan Woodhead was appointed as Mayor of Biggleswade for the 2025–2026 civic year, succeeding Cllr Mark Foster, who has served in the role for the past two years. Ahead of the meeting, Cllr Foster expressed his gratitude, particularly thanking the Council’s Officers for their dedication and support throughout his term.
Following his nomination, Cllr Woodhead formally signed the Declaration of Office and presented it to the Council. In his address to Members, he expressed his appreciation for the nomination and said it was an honour to be elected as Town Mayor. He also shared his pride in being part of Biggleswade’s vibrant community, noting his intention to shine a spotlight on the many local charities that often go unrecognised. He added that further details about the Mayor’s chosen charities for the year would be announced in the coming days.
Following the election of the Mayor, Cllr David Albone was elected as Deputy Mayor for 2025–2026. He also completed and presented his Declaration of Office to the Council.
